Yachiru & Zaraki

Best Bleach duo ever, kthx.

Yachiru and Zaraki are characters in Kubo Tite's epic anime/manga Bleach, a series that's been running in Shounen Jump since 2001. Zaraki is the taichou (captain) of the 11th Division of the Gotei 13 (13 Court Guards) in the Soul Society, and Yachiru is his fukutaichou (vice-captain).

The 11th Division is known as the most bloodthirsty, and their taichou is the epitome of that description. While others fight for honor or justice, Zaraki fights for the sheer hell of it. To him, battle is the greatest of all things. Yachiru is constantly by his side, cheering him on — she does not fight, but is always there for him, watching from a safe distance. All she wants is for him to be happy, and as such she will not tolerate anyone interrupting a fight.

Zaraki first met Yachiru in Rukongai after a bloody battle. They were in one of the worst of the 80 districts, Kusajishi, and Zaraki was surprised to see a child there. For whatever reason, he decided to take her with him and gave her her name, Yachiru, after the only person he ever respected.
